仕事内容Job description [Job Title]
[Hitachi, Ltd.] Overseas Account Sales for Global Iron & Steel and Non-Ferrous Metals Majors / Transforming Social Infrastructure with OT x IT (Senior Staff)

[Department]
Industrial Solutions Business Unit, Industry & Distribution Sales Division, Process Industry Sales Headquarters, Steel Solutions Sales Department

[About the Department (Overview and Mission)]
Our department provides value to customers in the domestic and overseas iron and non-ferrous metals industries by combining Hitachi's strengths in IT x OT x Products, AI, and digital technologies, centered on OT for steel manufacturing processes.

This position's mission is to transform social infrastructure and customers' futures from the front lines, through the substantial scale of driving large global projects worth several 億 to 20億円 with leading overseas steel manufacturers in each country, and through solution proposals that span from control infrastructure on the shop floor to AI and digital technologies.

Currently, with the accelerating electrification of society, there is an urgent need to address management challenges in plant facilities that mass-produce substation equipment, electrical steel sheets for EVs, and steel sheets for automobiles and home appliances, including responding to rapidly growing demand, improving productivity, advancing maintenance and operations, and decarbonization. In response, our department not only delivers control equipment that supports the shop floor at millisecond and micron levels, but also combines accumulated OT expertise with AI and digital technologies to solve these problems collaboratively, while staying close to customers' increasingly diverse management challenges.

[Businesses, Services, and Products Involved]
Leveraging Hitachi's comprehensive capabilities, we operate the following businesses, which have received high praise from customers.
■ IT / Digital Solutions Business
・Smart factory
・Various failure prediction diagnostics
・Stable operation support
■ OT Business
・Various steel plant control systems (various control power supplies, PLCs, IGBTs, instrumentation, process computers)
■ Products Business
・Various motors used in steelworks and their control equipment

[Background of Recruitment]
In our department, which serves as the front-line sales contact for customers in the domestic and overseas iron and non-ferrous metals industries, proposals combining IT, DX, and AI have become essential in addition to our existing OT-centered sales. The overseas sales team currently needs to strengthen its global talent as its coverage area expands. This recruitment seeks a future leader who can guide junior team members.

[Job Overview]
・You will gather information on challenges faced by front-line staff and management to support customers' investment plans and DX solution deployment.
・Based on the challenges identified, you will lead the involvement of internal stakeholders to develop proposal scenarios, formulate action plans, and lead customer presentations and business negotiations for optimal solution deployment.
・While personally leading negotiations and project advancement with overseas customers and local stakeholders, you will also be responsible for developing and coaching junior members and coordinating with other departments, and we expect you to drive maximum results for the entire team.

・You will present the configuration, contents, and value of product and service solutions that meet customer needs based on clear grounds and standard transaction terms, and as needed, collaborate with supervisors and team members to optimize conditions (delivery dates, scope, contract terms, etc.) and build consensus.
・You will identify and build relationships with the decision-makers of customer organizations and key influencers, and drive problem-solving for front-line and management challenges through effective two-way information sharing.
・You will personally lead email correspondence in English, negotiations in meetings, and document preparation with overseas customers and local stakeholders.
・You will work closely with internal design and development engineers, SEs, overseas local subsidiaries, and other stakeholders to coordinate, and lead the team in achieving its goals.

[Position Appeal, Rewarding Aspects, and Career Path]
■ Appeal and Rewards of the Position
In the steel industry, which supports the supply chains of various manufacturing sectors, you can experience the satisfaction of driving large global projects worth several 億 to 20億円 through your own value contribution.

Our department works with leading steel manufacturers from countries around the world. Rather than simply "selling products," you can experience the true appeal of account sales, deeply engaging from front-line challenges to management investment policies, and leading everything from scenario development to business negotiations.

Because you can handle both OT (control) that directly operates the field and IT / DX end to end, you can experience the great sense of achievement of advancing the operation of massive plants, going beyond proposals on paper.

■ Career Path
In addition to practical overseas sales work (leading large projects), you will be responsible for developing junior members, consolidating projects, and coordinating with engineering departments and overseas bases. We expect you to step up over the next few years into a core management talent who leads the organization as a manager, through your own track record and contribution to the organization.

[Work Environment]
