職種Position R&D / Engineer /Technician (Mechanical, Electronics)
会社概要Company profile This is with a deep-tech startup developing and commercializing world-leading neutral-atom quantum computing systems, one of the most promising next-generation computing architectures.

The company was established in collaboration with leading quantum physics research groups in Japan and is working toward the practical realization of quantum computers as a next-generation computational platform. Through joint research initiatives with universities, national laboratories, and global technology partners, the team is advancing quantum hardware development for future industrial applications and international markets.

Quantum computing is expected to transform industries such as:

drug discovery
advanced materials design
artificial intelligence
financial optimization
energy systems

Among multiple quantum architectures, the company focuses on neutral-atom quantum computing, widely considered one of the most scalable and promising approaches for large-scale quantum processors.

This role offers a rare opportunity to contribute not only to research infrastructure but also to the real-world deployment and industrialization of next-generation computing technology.
仕事内容Job description We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design the mechanical structures surrounding a neutral-atom quantum computer—including system enclosures, optical mounts, and vacuum chamber assemblies—and support development from research prototypes through to customer-delivery systems.
This role involves end-to-end ownership of mechanical system design across multiple development stages of a next-generation quantum computing platform.

Responsibilities
Design mechanical components and structural assemblies for the quantum computing system and its peripheral equipment using CAD tools such as SolidWorks
Collaborate with optics, vacuum, and electrical engineers to design system layouts and interface structures across subsystems
Prepare technical drawings for fabrication vendors and manage:
• machining instructions
• incoming part inspection
• quality control
Design assembly and alignment workflows, prepare technical procedures, and support on-site integration and feedback cycles
Extend designs from research prototype systems (proof-of-concept chambers) to customer-delivery systems (first-generation and next-generation machines) and maintain associated documentation

Why This Role Is Unique
Rare opportunity to design the mechanical architecture of a quantum computing system enclosure from early-stage prototypes through production-ready delivery systems
Work alongside specialists in optics, vacuum engineering, and control systems to bring a full experimental platform into a deployable product
Gain experience in environments requiring strict requirement definition, documentation, and performance validation for delivery-grade systems
Join as an early-stage team member contributing to prototype system design beginning in Q3 2026, followed by delivery-system development from 2027 onward
応募資格Requirement Required Qualifications (Must-have)
Candidates must meet all of the following requirements:
At least 3 years of professional experience in mechanical design
Experience creating mechanical designs and technical drawings using CAD tools such as:
• SolidWorks
• Fusion 360
• or equivalent platforms
Hands-on experience in precision machining, assembly, and mechanical adjustment
Experience conducting design reviews and managing drawings across multi-component or subsystem-level assemblies
Professional-level Japanese communication skills required for coordination with internal teams and fabrication vendors
Ability to independently understand technical specifications in unfamiliar domains and translate them into engineering designs

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-have)
Experience designing mechanical structures that integrate laser optical systems, including mirrors, lenses, and optical mounts
Experience designing systems for vacuum environments or cryogenic environments
Experience designing high-precision mechanical systems such as:
• semiconductor manufacturing equipment
• precision measurement instruments
• scientific research apparatus
Experience using simulation tools such as:
• FEM analysis
• thermal design simulations
• vibration analysis
Experience participating in technical specification discussions or drawing reviews in English
