・近接覚センサーの概要:
「近接覚」は、視覚とも触覚とも異なるモノの認知方法で、見たり、触ったりせずに認知することから「人間にはない感覚」とされています。近接覚センサーは、対象物の位置と形状を同時に計測する独自のセンシング技術により、死角部分を含めたモノの形状や鏡面・透明物質の認知を可能にしました。独自の高速・高精度AI技術と組み合わせることで、従来の産業用ロボットでは難しいとされていた現場に応じた臨機応変なピックアップが可能となるほか、ティーチング負担の軽減も促進します。

[Company Overview]
Their client is working to realize "robot hands that think with their fingertips" by providing them with a proximity sensor developed by Keisuke Koyama, an assistant professor at the Graduate School of Engineering Science, Osaka University. Their proximity sensor simultaneously measures distance and angle at an advanced level, and has evolved to the point where it can recognize glass and mirrors. This will enable dexterous robotic hands and revolutionize collaborative robots that work alongside humans.
Proximity Sensor Overview:
"Proximity" is a method of object recognition that differs from both vision and touch. Because it can be perceived without sight or touch, it is considered a "sense not found in humans." Their proximity sensor's unique sensing technology simultaneously measures the position and shape of an object, enabling it to recognize the shape of objects, including blind spots, as well as mirrored and transparent surfaces. When combined with their proprietary high-speed, high-precision AI technology, this sensor enables flexible pickup tailored to the situation, something previously difficult for conventional industrial robots, and also reduces the burden of teaching.
