仕事内容Job description This company is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to lead the development of the machine learning components for our innovative MRV (Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification) and decarbonization platform within our Engineering department.
This role is critical to integrating advanced AI, satellite remote sensing, and comprehensive carbon footprint tracking to deliver holistic solutions for agribusinesses, government agencies, and farmers.

[About the Project]
- Develop an AI-driven system to visualize and manage Scope 3 Category 1 emissions for large agribusiness corporations.
- Create machine learning models for crop classification, yield estimation, and soil health analysis using satellite data.
- Implement advanced analytics and machine learning models for forecasting carbon/greenhouse gas emissions and recommending reduction strategies.
- Integrate data from diverse sources, including satellite imagery, IoT devices, on-site soil testing facilities, and climate data repositories.

[Specific Responsibilities]
- Lead research, development, and implementation of machine learning systems for the MRV platform.
- Identify and implement the most effective algorithms, continuously refining models to achieve peak performance.
- Evaluate and analyze model performance, enhancing functionalities as needed.
- Integrate machine learning models into production environments.
- Work on complex data processing pipelines involving satellite imagery and IoT data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align ML development with user needs and regulatory requirements.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to the growth of the machine learning team.

応募資格Requirement [Requirements]
- Japanese language proficiency at N2 level or higher
- Over 5 years of professional experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or Data Scientist, including at least 2 years in a leadership or mentoring role
- Proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS)
- Extensive experience with machine learning frameworks and data processing technologies
- Experience in satellite imagery processing (active/passive – e.g., Sentinel-1, Sentinel-2, Landsat, MODIS) and geospatial data analysis
- Knowledge of carbon accounting principles and environmental reporting standards
- Proven experience leading cross-functional engineering activities
- Strong software engineering practices, including debugging/profiling, version control, and system design
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment

[Preferred requirements]
- Experience or understanding of satellite remote sensing, crop science, and agriculture
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and experience with database systems (RDBMS/NoSQL)
- Familiarity with monitoring systems, logging, operations, and SLO/SLA concepts
- Experience working in the AgriTech or environmental sustainability sector
